Values and Ethos

Our Core Values

As a small village school, we want to inspire our children to dream big and have the confidence to aspire to be brave and bold in their achievements. We use our 'small but mighty' statement, alongside our school bible story of David and Goliath, to consider how we too can be mighty when we support and trust in one another. We know that David had no armour, no experience, no equipment, he was not battle tested, nor was he training. However, one thing he had that Goliath also had was confidence. The difference being was that his confidence was in His God and not in his own strength. If we also share our successes and work together in challenging ourselves, we too can show that although we are small, we are mightier together.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and Love your neighbour as yourself. Luke 10:27

Just like the parable of the Good Samaritan, the staff and Governors of Holme CofE Primary Academy believe and promote the following:

Our aim is to provide an inspirational education for the children and families of Holme in which every child is valued and nurtured, regardless of their gender, ethnicity or economic background so that they aspire, flourish and achieve their full potential.

Our hope for our children is that they leave our school as confident, curious and compassionate young people who offer the hand of friendship to all they meet, regardless of their differences, in order to make the world a better place. We hope that they challenge injustice and speak for those who struggle to speak for themselves.

Equipped with the core learning and life skills, we hope that they will embark upon the next stage of their education with excitement and confidence.

We do all of this within our Christian ethos as a Church of England School, cherishing each child as a unique child of God.
