Pupil Premium Information

Pupil Premium Statement 2022-2025 Pupil Premium Statement 2021-22

The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

Pupil premium funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools, such as special schools and pupil referral units. It is paid to schools according to the number of pupils who have been:

  • registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
  • been in care for 6 months or longer

At Holme school we allocate funding in a variety of ways with the aim being to :

  • To enable pupils eligible for pupil premium to access the same learning opportunities as other pupils
  • To target support in basic skills, including national or accelerated progress in math and English
  • To narrow the gaps between pupils eligible for PP funding and their peers
  • To work on closer relationships with and more engagement from the families of pupils who are eligible
  • To enrich the lives of children eligible for PP funding by providing a range of after school clubs, trips and music lessons otherwise unavailable to them
  • To support adopted pupils so that they make the same rates of progress as their peers.

At our school we have a focus on ensuring that children in receipt of the pupil premium have a range of additional experiences while they are with us. This includes taking part in clubs, residential and visits, access to additional music lessons and other opportunities.

We believe these experiences help to build confidence and language skills and enables the children to be able to apply this across their learning.

School Sports Vision Statement

All pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.

Our Curriculum Intent

At Holme C of E Primary School, we aim to develop a fun, high-quality physical education curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel individual’s abilities in competitive sports and other physically-demanding activities.

We will provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness.

Our children will have opportunities to compete in sport and other activities that build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect. PE at Holme is an imperative element of the curriculum, which develops a need for healthy life styles, a balanced diet, positive growth mind-set and the resilience to persevere with activities. The children have an opportunity to develop fundamental skills throughout the whole of their Primary PE journey.

We are passionate about the need to teach children how to cooperate and collaborate with others, as part of a team, understanding fairness and equity of play to embed life-long values.
